Equity market opens in red, Sensex down 300 points
Mumbai, Sep 30: The key Indian equity indices opened on a negative note on Monday, with the BSE Sensex trading over 300 points lower.
The domestic stock market traded in tandem with the Asian markets following reports that the US was considering delisting Chinese companies from the American stock exchanges among other steps, thereby escalating the trade tensions.
At 9.45 a.m., the BSE Sensex was trading at 38,510.64, lower by 311.93 points or 0.80 per cent from the previous close of 38,822.57 points.
It has touched an intra-day high of 38,873.12 and a low of 38,584.18 points.
The Nifty50 on the National Stock Exchange was trading at 11,426.15 points, lower by 86.25 points or 0.75 per cent from its previous close.
