Former J&K interlocutor named Lakshwadeep Administrator
New Delhi, Oct 26: Former Intelligence Bureau Director and Centre's interlocutor for Jammu and Kashmir, Dineshwar Sharma, was on Friday appointed the Administrator of the Union Territory of Lakshwadeep, an official statement said.
The Home Ministry statement said Sharma's tenure would start from the day he assumes charge of his post.
A 1979 cadre Indian Police Service officer, Sharma had headed the IB from 2014 to 2016, before being appointed the interlocutor in October 2017 to initiate talks with the elected representatives of Jammu and Kashmir, political parties, different organisations and people.
