Democratic and Republicans both parties reached $900 Billion coronavirus package that includes stimulus checks

WASHINGTON â€” Congressional leaders reached agreement on a $900 billion stimulus package. It would provide direct payments and jobless aid to struggling Americans and badly needed funds for small businesses, hospitals, schools and vaccine distribution, New York Times reported. 

Senator Mitch McConnell, Republican of Kentucky and the majority leader, announced the agreement. 

Adults and children will get stimulus payments of $600. Those getting  unemployment benefits will get additional $300 per week from the Federal government. Earlier people got double the amount 

There will be rental and food assistance, as well as billions of dollars for schools and small businesses, reviving the Paycheck Protection Program, a federal loan program that lapsed this year. 

Both parties compromised on two things: Republicans dropped a provision to  protect  institutions from lawsuits on corona virus related issues. Democrats  dropped a provision to pay local and state governments
