Centre likely to come out with guidelines for quality drone manufacturing this week
New Delhi, Oct 24
Aiming to curb imports and manufacturing of cheap and sub-standard drones in the country, the Centre is planning to bring out guidelines to ensure standards and promote domestic production.
According to sources, the Consumer Affairs Ministry is likely to issue guidelines on manufacturing of quality drones this week.
The ministry informed that the government may take assistance from the National Testing House while preparing the guidelines.
The need for guidelines was necessitated due to the growth of sub-standard drones in the country.
While preparing the guidelines, various technical aspects of drone manufacturing like their flight capabilities and take-off as well as landing abilities, will be kept in mind, sources informed.
The guidelines will also mention the encouragement to the domestic manufacturing needs.
With the Centre encouraging drone usage, the guidelines are expected to streamline their production and also ensure availability of top quality drones in the country.
