Kumararaja elected head of NY Tamil Sangam

Kathirvel Kumararaja, the founder and CEO of DevJee Inc, a New York-based Artificial Intelligence organization, has been elected President of New York Tamil Sangam last week

He has a prolific career spanning over 25 years in the IT realm specializing as a data scientist. A native of Erode in Tamil Nadu, he did his Engineering and MBA with a Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Business of MIT and Columbia University via the Emeritus platform

His illustrious professional journey also reflects in pivotal roles such as the head of IT division at Jindal Steel and Power Limited (a subsidiary of the $18 billion Jindal group) in India.

He also implemented Construction Management systems for both the Pentagon Renovation Program of US Department of Defense and the iconic Burj Khalifa Tower, an integral part of the $20 Billion Downtown Burj Dubai development

He has been associated with the New York Tamil Sangam since 2007 and was its Joint Treasurer, Vice President, supported in Harvard Tamil Chair Fundraising Efforts and chairman of Tamil Entrepreneur Conference

The other office holders elected are Dr Kumarappan Annamalai (Vice President), Dr. Pinchi Srinivasan (Secretary), Vasantha Kumar Venkatachalam (Treasurer); Ganimozhi Baskar (Executive Vice President) Lakshmanan Veerappan (Joint Secretary) and Kalyani Natarajan (Joint Treasurer)

New York Tamil Sangam was founded on Nov 16 1970 and it’s the first ever Tamil Association started in the whole of North America. It’s a registered non-profit, tax-exempt 501(c) (3) organization promoting culture, art and literature of Tamil ethnic people and charitable causes encompassing people living in and around New York
