Lawyer Refuses Breath Test, Police File Case – Incident in the U.S.
A young woman, who is also a lawyer, was booked by the police for refusing to take a breath test. The incident took place in the United States. The reason she gave for avoiding the test has now gone viral on social media.
The woman claimed that she was unable to blow into the machine because she had recently undergone lip surgery.
Rachel Tansey, a lawyer in the UK, was stopped by the police on suspicion of drunk driving. When asked to take a breath test, she refused, stating that her recent lip surgery made it impossible for her to blow into the device.
When officers then requested a blood sample for testing, she refused again, citing a fear of needles. At the time of the incident, she was driving a Range Rover at a speed of 32 km/h.
Due to her lack of cooperation, the police filed a case against her and presented her in court. Although Rachel argued that she had not been drinking, the court found her guilty due to her refusal to comply with police testing procedures. The Liverpool Magistrates' Court sentenced her to imprisonment until March 4.
