Shaktikanta Das Appointed as Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary
Shaktikanta Das, who led the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for six years since 2018, is now the Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His appointment will last until the end of the Prime Minister’s tenure or until a new order is issued. Das has played a key role in several initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s economic sector.
With over four decades of experience in finance, taxation, industry, and infrastructure, he brings extensive expertise to his new role.
Meanwhile, the tenure of NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam has been extended by one year. He was initially appointed for a two-year term in February 2023.
