Two residents of Uttar Pradesh are facing legal trouble for allegedly killing a chicken. The unusual incident took place in the Pakdi area of Ballia district. The police have registered a case against Suraj Ram and Sheela Devi based on a complaint filed by their neighbor.

A woman named Aarti Devi, who lives next to the accused, lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that Suraj and Sheela killed her chicken. According to the complaint, the accused threw a brick at the chicken, killing it. The complaint also states that when Aarti questioned them about the incident, they assaulted her. Following this, the police filed a case against the accused.

The police charged the accused under four sections of the Indian Penal Code:

Section 325 (Killing an animal)

Section 115-2 (Intentional harassment)
