American Telugu Association (ATA) Curtain Raiser Attracts 700 Attendees, Boosts Support for 19th ATA Conference in Baltimore
Herndon, VA — February 9, 2026 —
American Telugu Association (ATA) hosted a vibrant Curtain Raiser event at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport in Herndon, VA. Around 700 Community members attended the event. Despite extremely challenging weather, the presence of 700 esteemed guests and supporters, speaks volumes about the prowess of Telugu Community and their association with ATA.
The gathering brought huge momentum and raised funds for the upcoming ATA’s 19th Conference & Youth Convention scheduled to be held from July 31–August 2, 2026 at Baltimore Convention Centre. ATA’s 19th Conference is expected to bring together an ensemble of Telugu people, professionals, artists, and community leaders together, cultural performances, educational sessions, business forums, youth programs, and community service initiatives. This conference aims to celebrate Telugu heritage, foster entrepreneurship, and broaden community outreach.
Event began with a social hour, followed by remarks from the ATA President, Conference Convener and the team. Cultural performances enthralled the audiences. Conference team appraised the audiences of the various volunteer and sponsorship opportunities available. Event focused on mobilizing community resources and building momentum for the summer convention.
Leaders from several national organizations and local Telugu organizations attended the event and pledged their unequivocal support to make this convention a grand success.
ATA President Jayanth Challa reiterated ATA’s commitment to promote the Telugu language, culture, education, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship to more than 25 cities nationwide and that his team is working tirelessly to accomplish the same. Mr.Challa appraised the community of the various initiatives taken up thus far which not only includes cultural programs, youth activities , charitable drives but also business seminars, and public service activities benefiting the broader local community. Mr.Challa called for robust community participation and requested the support of one and all to make this convention a huge success. “We are seeking 500 volunteers to join our team and encourage everyone to contribute generously. Every dollar donated will be used responsibly, with full financial transparency.”
ATA’s 19th conference & Youth Convention Convener Sridhar Banala quoted that elaborate preparations are in the works to ensure that the audiences have a grand gala time at the conference. Several Prominent artists, celebrities , business leaders are expected to attend the event.
Conference team members comprising of Coordinator Ravi Challa, National Coordinator Sharath Vemula, Director Sudheer Damidi, Co-Coordinator Zeenath Kundur, Co-National Coordinator Koushik Sama, and Local Coordinator Thirumal Munukuntla, addressed the audiences and encouraged participation and support for the conference.
