OPINION | Only One World Malayalee Council; Andrew Pappachen, Founder
I was elected Vice Prescient Administration. After serving two terms (four years), I was elected Global President for two terms and after that two terms as Global chairman and then one term as Global Advisory Board Chairman. This World Malayalee Council continue to function following its original bylaws, conduct regular Global conference every two years except during Covid time and have the authority to use the original logo. However in 2009-10, few members met in Abu Dhabi and slit from the World Malayalee Council and started functioning as World Malayalee Council even though the original Council was still functioning.
This unauthorized group late amended the original bylaws and continued to use the name. In 2025 few members of the second unauthorized WMC met in Thailand and created another split group and they also started using the name World Malayalee Council. Now there are two unauthorized World Malayalee Council and the original World Malayalee Council which has the authority to use the original logo and conducted its business last 31 years by following the original bylaws.
Based on the above facts, it is suggested that the two split away groups change their name and stop using the name World Malayalee Council and function as legitimate organizations so that all three organizations can serve Global Malayalee without confusing the public.
This is the opinion other founders and former leaders who left WMC. World Malayalee Council worked diligently among Global Malayalees during the first 15 years toward its missing to networking Global Malayalee and create a Global Malayalee Community. We did more than Rupees one crore charity projects in Kerala towards helping the socioeconomic development of low income or no income people and women. WE adopted 10 villages in 10 different Districts each sponsored by a person and spent five years helping people to become self reliant, worked among disabled and many other projects.
I urge all my Malayalee friends in the other two groups to come back and join the original Word Malayalee Council and work towards its goal of networking Global Malayalees to create Global Malayalee Community connected and helping each other for generations to come. There cannot be three organizations with the same name. Since the original organization still functions as a Texas, USA registered not for profit organization, even though some original incorporators dissolve the incorporation in New Jersey, USA, the other two, the one started in 2009-2010 at Abu Dhabi and the second one started in 2025 in Thailand are advised to change their names and continue their existence to serve global Malayalee.. World Malayalee Council is organizing its next Global Conference in August in Dallas, Texas.
