Indian Nurses Association of New York (INANY) Announces Free Continuing Education Webinar for Registered Nurses
Feb 28 :
The Indian Nurses Association of New York (INANY), a leading professional organization known for its strong commitment to community health and nursing excellence, is hosting an educational webinar for registered nurses on Friday, March 6th, from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Participants will receive one free continuing education credit, underscoring INANY’s ongoing mission to support lifelong learning within the nursing profession.
The session will be led by Vinci Johnson, a Nurse Practitioner at South Shore University Hospital with nearly twenty-five years of experience across multiple intensive care units. Johnson will present on the timely and clinically significant topic, “From Hepatic Steatosis to Decompensated Liver Cirrhosis.”
Hepatic steatosis, commonly known as fatty liver disease, occurs when excess fat, primarily triglycerides, accumulates in liver cells. While the condition is often reversible, untreated fatty liver can progress to inflammation, cirrhosis, liver failure, and even liver cancer. Johnson will discuss the disease process, potential complications, and the latest scientific updates in treatment. The session aims to equip nurses with deeper clinical insight and greater confidence in caring for patients with hepatic steatosis, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and prevention of advanced liver disease.

INANY serves the New York metropolitan region as a chapter of the National Association of Indian Nurses of America (NAINA), which collaborates closely with the American Nurses Association (ANA)—the professional body representing approximately five million registered nurses across the United States. In addition to continuing education programs, INANY provides nursing scholarships, organizes community health fairs, and leads charitable initiatives such as back-to-school supply drives, food and clothing collections, and participation in blood donation campaigns.
Registration for the webinar is free. Participants may register by scanning the QR code on the event flyer.
