Mariana L. Neisuler Assumes Role as U.S. Consul General in Chennai
CHENNAI, MARCH 6, 2026:
Mariana L. Neisuler assumed charge of the United States Consulate General in Chennai on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Upon her arrival, Consul General Neisuler said, “I’m honored to represent the United States in southern India during this pivotal moment in our bilateral relationship. Under President Trump, Secretary Rubio, and Ambassador Gor’s leadership, we are focused on strengthening partnerships that deliver real results for both Americans and Indians. I look forward to expanding trade ties, supporting American businesses, and fostering the people-to-people connections that make our relationship so strong.”
Before arriving in Chennai, Consul General Neisuler served as the Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy Tashkent. She previously served as the Deputy Economic Counselor at Embassies Jerusalem and Amman, as well as tours in Washington D.C., Dubai, Skopje, and Moscow.
