Vaazha’ Franchise Expands: Third Film to Spotlight Women-Led Narrative

Filmmaker Vipin Das has officially unveiled the third chapter of the Vaazha series, titled Vaazha 3: Biopic of a Billion Girls, signaling a notable shift in the franchise’s storytelling approach.

The announcement was made on social media shortly after Das hinted at the project with a teaser post. Having written the earlier films and the upcoming installment, he reiterated that the franchise will continue to function as a launchpad for emerging talent across various creative fields.

Das noted that the series has grown beyond its initial expectations and emphasized its commitment to offering opportunities to new writers, actors, directors, and musicians.

Departing from the male-centric narratives of its predecessors, the third installment will feature a predominantly female cast, marking a fresh creative direction. According to Das, this transition is influenced by audience response as well as the evolving vision of the storytelling team.

Production is slated to begin in 2027, with casting to be conducted through open auditions once the script is completed. The team has requested aspiring contributors to wait for official updates before submitting their portfolios.

While Das will handle the screenplay, the film will be directed by Viswan Sreejith, who previously assisted him on projects including Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil and the earlier Vaazha films. This project will mark Sreejith’s debut as a director, aligning with the franchise’s focus on nurturing new filmmakers.

Co-producer Harris Desom highlighted that the success of the series demonstrates how newcomers can achieve significant box office results. He added that the team intends to continue investing in fresh talent across departments.

Desom also indicated that the creators view Vaazha as a long-term franchise, with plans potentially extending beyond the third film.

Meanwhile, Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros continues to perform strongly in theatres. Featuring social media personalities-turned-actors Hashir H., Alan Bin Siraj, Ajin Joy, and Vinayak V, the film has reportedly crossed ₹95 crore in domestic earnings and surpassed ₹160 crore globally.

Backed by a production team that includes Vipin Das, Harris Desom, Sahu Garapati, P. B. Anish, Adarsh Narayan, and Icon Studios, the film’s success has further solidified the franchise’s growing popularity.
