Indian Woman From Gujarat Shot Dead During Robbery Attempt at US Supermarket

A 45-year-old Indian woman from Gujarat was shot dead during a suspected robbery attempt at a supermarket in the United States, according to her family.

The victim has been identified as Meghnaben Patel, a native of Jantral village in Gujarat’s Mehsana district. She had reportedly been working at the supermarket in Virginia for nearly 10 years.

CCTV footage from the store shows a masked man entering the supermarket and approaching the counter where Meghnaben Patel was standing. After a brief conversation, the suspect allegedly pulled out a gun and opened fire.

The disturbing footage reportedly shows the woman collapsing before the attacker climbed over the counter and fired additional shots. The suspect later fled the scene.

Local police rushed to the supermarket after the incident, sealed the area, and launched an investigation. Authorities have also formed special teams to track down and arrest the accused.

Meghnaben Patel is survived by her husband, Upendrabhai Patel, and their two children, daughter Nakshiben and son Smith.
