Vikram Bhatt reveals the soundtrack of ‘Ankahee’ was made in a week

Mumbai, June 28

Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt, who is receiving a lot of positive response for his recently released film ‘Haunted 3D’, has shared that the music making process of his film ‘Ankahee’ was quick and easy.

The film was released 20 years ago, and was lauded for its chartbuster soundtrack. It starred Aftab Shivdasani, Ameesha Patel and Esha Deol.

The director spoke with IANS during the promotions of ‘Haunted 3D’ in the city. He shared that he met the music director Pritam only twice for the film’s soundtrack, and the composer delivered it in a week.

Talking about the same, Vikram told IANS, “So Pritam and I just met twice, actually. He had most of the songs ready. These were tunes he had worked on. When Sameer (the lyricist) and I sat down and we worked the lyrics up. But the music was ready like in a week. Very fast”.

“So, I mean, the journey of creating music for ‘Ankahee’ is not something that stands as a memorable struggle. Let's just say it was good music that came easy”, he added.

Earlier, Vikram said that a filmmaker is similar to a child in many ways. He shared that the relationship between a filmmaker and the audience is akin to a child and his mother.

He earlier told IANS, “There has to be something that excites me. There has to be something that you're dying to tell. You know, even as a kid, when you have something amazing, you keep saying, ‘mom, listen to me’”.

“And mom's like, ‘What is it?’ And then you say something and mom says, ‘Really?’ or she says, ‘Okay, big deal’. So I think every filmmaker is that child who's telling the audience, listen to me, listen to this. I got this good, I got this great one. I got this great one for you’. And when you feel that excitement, you should make the film”, he added.
