The adventure began bright and early at 7:00 am from the Movie Max theater parking lot in Niles, Illinois. Under the dedicated coordination of Mukesh Mehta, Sunil Shah RN, K C Patel, Jayshree Pandya, and Usha Ray, members gathered with excitement, equipped with hats, comfortable walking shoes, routine medicines, umbrellas, water bottles, and light snacks ready for whatever the day might bring. With a pleasant weather forecast at 86 to 67 degrees Fahrenheit and only a 10% chance of rain, the stage was perfectly set for an unforgettable experience.

As the group settled in, the air filled with the aroma of a hearty breakfast featuring fafda, jalebi, and marcha, accompanied by steaming tea and coffee. This warm start fueled both bodies and spirits before the bus rolled out at 8 am toward the scenic shores of Lake Geneva. By 10 am, the group arrived at Seminary Park, where they had thoughtfully reserved shaded areas to ensure comfort throughout the day.

The program opened with a warm welcome drink and a soulful Ganpati Stuti led by Chairperson Mrs. Pinky Dinesh Thakkar, invoking blessings for a harmonious and joyful gathering. The celebration then took on a patriotic hue, honoring the 250th anniversary of American Independence, 80 years of India Independence and 65 years of Vande Matram. Members stood proudly for the National Anthem of the USA, followed by the Indiana national anthem, creating a moving moment of unity and gratitude for the nation that has welcomed so many.

As the sun began its descent, the return journey started at 5:30 pm, with the bus arriving back at the Movie Max parking lot around 7 pm.
