Sydney Sweeney takes on Tom Cruise with death-defying Airplane stunt

Mumbai, Aug 25
Actress Sydney Sweeney has proved that she’s no stranger to high-octane action, matching icon Tom Cruise’s daredevil spirit by strapping herself to the top of an airplane.

Sweeney took to Instagram, where she shared a video of herself holding a camera in one hand in a movie single-engine plane as she was strapped to it. The clip showed the aircraft moving in fill speed and flipping upside down several times while she was attached to it.

“Watch out Tom Cruise,” she wrote as the caption.

Actress Leslie Mann took to the comment section and wrote: “Be Careful!!”

The film “Top Gun Movies” Instagram page dropped a comment and wrote: “Feel the need for speed.”

Sweeney gained early recognition for her roles in Everything Sucks!, The Handmaid's Tale, and Sharp Objects in 2018. She received wider acclaim for her performances in the drama series Euphoria and the first season of the anthology series The White Lotus.

Sweeney gained more acclaim for her performances in the drama film Reality and for her portrayal of professional boxer Christy Martin in the biopic Christy and has also appeared in the box office hits Anyone but You and The Housemaid. Her other film credits include Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Madame Web, and Immaculate.

Her latest work includes The Housemaid by Paul Feig. It is based on the 2022 novel by Freida McFadden, and stars Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried. In the film, Millie Calloway, a young woman with a troubled past, becomes the live-in maid for a wealthy family whose household hides dark secrets.

A sequel is in development, with Feig and Sweeney set to return and scheduled for release on December 17, 2027.

She will next be seen in The Custom of the Country, an upcoming tragicomedy film written and directed by Josie Rourke, based on the 1913 novel by Edith Wharton. The film is about an ambitious woman moves from the Midwest to New York City, looking to climb the city's social ladder.
