Sensex closes 72 points down
Mumbai, March 23
A benchmark index of Indian
equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), provisionally
closed Monday's trade down 72 points or 0.26 percent.
The wider
50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also closed the
day's trade in the red. It was down 20 points or 0.23 percent at
8,550.90 points (provisional, subject to change).
The Sensex of
the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 28,317.29
points, closed the day's trade at 28,188.91 points (3.30 p.m.), down
72.17 points or 0.26 percent from the previous day's close at 28,261.08
points.
The Sensex touched a high of 28,385.14 points and a low of 28,163.90 points in the intra-day trade.
