Sensex plunges 205 points in early session
Mumbai, May 12 A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Tuesday plunged 205.03 points or 0.75 percent during the morning session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 69.90 points or 0.84 percent down at 8,255.35 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,502.91 points, was trading at 27,302.27 points (at 9.22 a.m.) in the early session, down 205.03 points or 0.75 percent from the previous day's close at 27,507.30 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 27,502.91 points and a low of 27,276.77 points in the trade so far.
Selling pressure was seen in realty, banking, capital goods and auto sectors.
