Sensex gains 149 points in early trade
Mumbai, May 15 A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Friday surged 149.35 points or 0.55 percent during the morning session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 39.45 points or 0.48 percent up at 8,263.65 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,233.90 points, was trading at 27,355.41 points (at 9.26 a.m.) in the early session, up 149.35 points or 0.55 percent from the previous day's close at 27,206.06 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 27,379.57 points and a low of 27,233.78 points in the trade so far.
Good buying was observed in auto, IT and technology, media and entertainment (TECK) sectors, while selling pressure was seen in metal sector.
