Sensex sheds 34 points during morning session
Mumbai, May 19 A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Tuesday was trading 34.03 points or 0.12 percent down during the morning session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 17.75 points or 0.21 percent down at 8,355.90 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,663.08 points, was trading at 27,653.27 points (at 9.15 a.m.) in the early session, down 34.03 points or 0.12 percent from the previous day's close at 27,687.30 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 27,663.08 points and a low of 27,653.27 points in the trade so far.
Selling pressure was seen in healthcare, oil and gas and consumer durables sector.
