Kamal Haasan's 'Papanasam' to release on July 17
Chennai:Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan-starrer "Papanasam", a remake of Malayalam hit "Drishyam", will release in cinemas on July 17, two weeks before the Hindi version starring Ajay Devgn hits the screens.
"Since July 17 happens to be Ramzan holiday weekend, the makers felt it would be appropriate time to release the film. The audio launch is expected to happen in the second or third week of June," a source from the film's unit told IANS.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, who helmed the original, "Papanasam" is about a father's plight to save his family.
The Hindi version, which is also titled "Drishyam", is directed by Nishikanth Kamat.
