People can eat beef too: BJP leader

 BJP leader V. Muraleedharan said on Monday that people were free to eat anything, "be it beef, buffalo or pork meat".

"Anything can be eaten, be it beef, buffalo or pork meat. This is a personal choice," Muraleedharan, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Kerala, told the media here. 

The BJP would never dictate what people should eat and what they should not, he added. 

Muraleedharan made the comments while alleging that the Congress-led UDF and the LDF headed by the CPI-M had reached a secret pact to keep it out of power in the upcoming local body elections.
