Two dead, one injured as car knocks down pedestrians in Delhi
New Delhi, June 13 At least two people were killed and one critically injured when they were knocked down by a drunken youth driving a Honda City car here on Monday morning, police said.
"Rishabh, 21, hit three pedestarians at different places in Janakpuri area around 6.30 a.m.," Deputy Commissioner of Police Pushpendra Kumar told IANS.
"Kameshwar Prasad, 40, and Ashwini Anand, 67, were killed in the accident while Santosh, 40, was critically injured and admitted to a hospital," the official said.
Kumar also said that Santosh was not in the condition to give any statement.
According to another senior official, Rishabh, a resident of west Delhi's Janakpuri area, was in drunken condition and driving a Honda City car at the time of the accident. The car has been impounded by police.
Rishabh is a student of Bachelor in Business Administration and his father runs a hardware shop.
He was arrested after a case was lodged against him, the police oficer said.
