Saudi forces kill alleged IS member in Riyadh
Riyadh, March 8: A suspected member of the terror organisation Islamic State (IS) was killed and another detained in a raid in Riyadh, the Saudi Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred when a security patrol team checked on an al-Rayyan apartment where two men were found allegedly showing support for the terror group, Ministry Spokesman Major General Mansour al-Turki said in a statement, Efe news reported.
During the arrest, the suspect reportedly pointed a weapon at the police officers, causing them to "neutralise the threat he posed" said the statement.
Al-Turki said that security forces detained another person who was with him and seized the weapon the suspect was carrying.
