Marseille registers fourth successive Ligue 1 win
Paris, Jan 20: French football club Marseille regained the second position on the Ligue 1 table after getting past Caen 2-0, to record their fourth straight league win.
Marseille winger Dimitri Payet broke the deadlock in the 55th minute with a spot kick, followed by Florian Thauvin's brilliant strike on 74 minutes, his 10th goal of the campaign, reports Xinhua news agency.
Marseille provisionally moved past Lyon, who will host leaders Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, to sit second, nine points adrift of PSG.
Defending champions Monaco will face bottom sides Metz at home on Sunday.
