Accused of stealing rice; a person belonging to the Dalit community was beaten to death
Accused of stealing rice, a Dalit man was beaten to death in Chhattisgarh. The victim was Panch Ram Sarthi, aged 50.
Panch Ram Sarthi allegedly entered a house with the intention of theft, and the residents, upon noticing this, brutally assaulted him, according to the police. Sarthi was tied to a tree and brutally beaten with a stick. Subsequently, Sarthi, who was severely injured in the attack, succumbed to his injuries. The incident took place in Dumarpali village under the jurisdiction of Chakradhar Nagar police station. Three people have been arrested in connection with the case.
