A Perfect Union: Kerala's First Registered Sikh Wedding

Those who visited the Sub-Registrar Office on MG Road on Monday were reminded of the vibrant wedding scenes from Punjabi House. The sight of Sardars dressed in traditional Sikh attire, moving around in their distinctive style, drew curiosity and excitement from onlookers. For the first time in Kerala, a Sikh wedding is being registered and it's the wedding of the younger generation from the renowned Sethi family, prominent in the automobile business.

Inderpreet Kaur (Nimmi), the bride, is the daughter of Surinder Singh Sethi, the owner of Bombay Automobiles and JK Automobiles, and Rani Kaur Sethi, a writer and entrepreneur. The groom, Mantej Singh, is an architectural engineer based in Melbourne, Australia. Having lived in Kerala for many years, they decided that the wedding would also take place in Kerala. The Sikh wedding ceremony and celebrations will be held in Amritsar at the beginning of July, according to Sikh customs.
