With deep devotion, Makara Vilakku darshan today; huge crowd of pilgrims at Sannidhanam
With deep devotion, the Makara Vilakku festival will be observed at Sabarimala today. A huge crowd of pilgrims has gathered at Sannidhanam. The Makara Sankrama Pooja and Abhishekam will take place at 8:45 AM. The sacred Thiruvabharanam procession for Lord Ayyappa will reach Sannidhanam by evening. Following this, Deeparadhana (ritual lighting) will be performed, after which the Makara Jyothi will appear at Ponnambalamedu, along with the sighting of the Makara star in the sky.
Pilgrims will not be allowed to proceed from Nilakkal after 10 AM and from Pamba after 12 PM. Today, a total of 41,000 pilgrims are expected at Sannidhanam through virtual and spot booking.
