Young man tragically dies during Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu; Around 20 injured
tragedy during Jallikattu in Tamil Nadu as a young man dies. Naveen Kumar, a native of Madurai, lost his life in the incident, which took place in Avaniyapuram, Madurai. The event saw the participation of 1,100 bulls and 900 tamers. The owner of the bull that finished first was awarded a tractor worth ₹12 lakh, while the tamer who subdued the most bulls received a car worth ₹8 lakh. Naveen was trampled on the chest while trying to tame a bull. He was rushed to Madurai Government Hospital but could not be saved. Around 20 people were injured during the Jallikattu event. The competition will be held in Palamedu tomorrow and in Alanganallur the day after tomorrow.
