UK Announces £1.6bn Missile Deal for Ukraine
UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has unveiled a £1.6bn missile deal for Ukraine, allowing the country to purchase over 5,000 air defense missiles produced in Belfast. Announced at a European leaders' summit in London, the deal aims to bolster Ukraine’s defenses while creating jobs in the UK.
Starmer also revealed a coalition of allies, including France, prepared to commit troops to Ukraine in case of a future peace agreement. He reaffirmed the UK’s “ironclad” support for Ukraine, emphasizing the need for lasting security.
The agreement, part of the UK’s growing defense partnership with Ukraine, aligns with plans to increase UK defense spending and support small businesses in the defense sector.
