Nice defender Diawara arrested
Nice (France), April 10: French football club OGC Nice defender Souleymane Diawara has been arrested for violent conduct, according to a media report on Friday.
The former Charlton Athletic and Senegal player has been behind bars since Thursday as he "tried to exercise justice himself" after being the victim of a scam, reported bbc.com.
The 36-year-old had won the French league title with Bordeaux in 2008-09 and joined Nice from Marseille in 2014.
He also has 48 caps for his country and was part of the Addicks squad that got relegated from the Premier League in 2006-07.
Nice, who start the weekend 13th in Ligue 1, have an away-match at Reims on Sunday.
