Madhya Pradesh bans Maggi noodles
Bhopal, June 5 : The Madhya Pradesh government on Friday banned the sale of Nestle's Maggi noodles in the state after a report on a sample of the popular snack suggested the presence of monosodium glutamate, a flavour enhancer.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told mediapersons that the report on the Maggi noodles sample showed the presence of monosodium glutamate. It is due to this report that the government banned the snack until there is more clarity on the issue.
Six samples of Maggi noodles, three each from Indore and Bhopal, were sent to an Indore laboratory on Tuesday. One of the samples tested positive.
The sale of Nestle's Maggi noodles has been prohibited in six states of the country.
