Himachal Police to organise half marathon
Shimla, June 12 The Himachal Pradesh Police will organise the eighth half marathon here on June 24 and this event is part of its campaign against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, it was announced on Tuesday.
The run will be flagged off by Director General S.R. Mardi from the Ridge, while Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur will honour the winners.
Several week-long programmes will be organised by the police across the state to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a spokesperson for the police department told IANS.
The run will have three parts -- half marathon (21.5 km), mini marathon (10 km) and dream run (3 km).
